City Council in talks to rename Jackson park after Lil Lonnie
GF Default - Police say they don't know the motive behind the shooting death of Lil Lonnie

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A local park could be renamed for a rapper who was shot and killed in Jackson.

One of the ordinances is to rename the Virdin Addition park after 22-year-old Lonnie Montrel Taylor.

The rapper went by the name Lil Lonnie.

He was shot and killed last year in April.

Just last week, police arrested and charged two men in his death.

The ordinance is currently being discussed in Tuesday’s city council meeting.
