Police: Theft, bicycle involved in 14-year-old’s shooting death, motive unclear
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The 14-year-old boy who was shot to death in Jackson on Easter Sunday will be laid to rest one week from tomorrow.
Rodrick Johnson was shot on Bishop Avenue at or near the home of the accused shooter, 41-year-old Stacy Lidell.
He’s been charged with murder, but there’s no clear word on a motive.
Police say theft and Lidell’s bicycle were involved, but they stop short of saying Johnson or his friends were trying to steal the bike.
Lidell remains in jail without bond, awaiting his preliminary hearing.
