HOLDEN, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatal wreck on I-12 that happened Thursday, April 25.

The wreck happened just after 5 a.m. Thursday. The crash claimed the lives of four people from Mississippi and seriously injured Willie Smith Jr., 57, of Loranger.

The four people from Mississippi have been identified as:

  • Tobias Jones, 30, of Magnolia (driver)
  • Marcus Feltus, 35, of Crosby
  • Natasha Moore, 36, of McComb
  • Anya Ewell, 38, also of McComb

Police say Smith was traveling westbound on I-12 in a 1998 Lincoln Town Car and for reasons still under investigation, crossed the median and struck a 2010 Nissan Altima head-on with four people inside that was being driven by Jones.

Smith was properly restrained, but was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Police say all four people in the other car were unrestrained and suffered fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead on scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.

Impairment is unknown at this time. Routine toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
