JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Three days after being pulled from her submerged vehicle by first responders, a Jackson woman has succumbed to her injuries, according to the Hinds County coroner.

Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said 44-year-old Malisa Wortham died Tuesday at an undisclosed hospital.

Grisham-Stewart said it’s believed to have happened at an underpass on West Monument Street near Gallatin Street that tends to flood during stormy weather.
