OXFORD, MS (WLBT) - Ole Miss head men’s basketball coach Kermit Davis announced that Austin Crowley has signed with the Rebels and will join the team for the upcoming season. Crowley, a consensus four-star guard from West Point, Mississippi, joins Davis’ first full recruiting class at Ole Miss.

“Signing the best players in Mississippi has been a top priority for our staff in our first year. Austin Crowley is the full package – an elite, talented, excellent student that has outstanding character,” Davis said. “Austin comes from a great family in West Point, Mississippi. Sunrise Christian and coach Luke Barnwell have given Austin a great base for success at the SEC level.”

The 6-foot-5 guard is rated as a four-star by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. Crowley sits as the No. 70 player in the country and 20th-best guard nationwide according to 247Sports. Rivals tabs Crowley the 27th-best guard nationwide, while ESPN has him listed as the third-best player in the state.

Crowley spent his final two years of high school at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas. Last season, he was teammates with fellow Rebel Blake Hinsonwhile averaging 10.0 ppg for the No. 2 high school team in the nation. As a senior, Crowley averaged 15.2 ppg and was a McDonald’s All-American nominee. He helped Sunrise Christian post a 22-6 record and play in the GEICO High Schools Nationals, featuring the top nationally-ranked high school teams in the country.

Prior to making the move to Kansas, Crowley played two years of high school basketball in his hometown of West Point, Mississippi. After averaging 15.0 ppg as a freshman, he exploded to 24.2 ppg during his sophomore campaign. Following both seasons, Crowley earned all-district accolades. Breaking out as a sophomore, he became an all-state guard for the West Point Green Wave.
