Tom Cook has turned over the business to his daughter, but he is still there almost every day. Cook says he is not a chef, but he knows what tastes good.

“If I had left that to me, nobody would have come in. I try to cook for myself sometimes and it just don’t work,” he said.

“I have people come in that say, ‘Look, my grandmother, or my mother, made these for me and I have never found that taste yet until I came in your place and your pies taste just like hers did,’" he continued. “That has to be the greatest compliment. Oh, it is the best compliment you can receive."
