Vicksburg ‘Treehouse’ to remain closed until owners meets with mayor, police chief

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - Police have closed The Treehouse Banquet Hall due to a shooting inside the building late Friday night.

The owners of the Vicksburg banquet hall will have to meet with Chief Milton Moore and Mayor George Flaggs to present a security plan before they can reopen.

This will be the second time the business has closed as a result of a shooting.

According to the Vicksburg Daily News, three shots were fired inside the The Treehouse just before midnight on Friday.

Police say that a fight broke out inside the building and someone pulled out a gun and started shooting. No one was injured.

A 23-year-old man has been detained.

The suspect will be arraigned Monday in Municipal Court on several charges, including discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

This is an ongoing investigation.
