JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A day after a Rankin County Sheriff’s Department vehicle was broken into in the Capitol City, the Jackson Police Department recovered some of the stolen items.
The items were found Tuesday afternoon, they were recovered when JPD spotted a stolen car.
The car in question was taken from another jurisdiction. Officers could see a jacket inside with the RCSD patch inside the vehicle.
JPD was able to execute a search warrant on the car. Inside they found a jacket, two camouflaged bags with personal items inside, handcuffs, and paperwork.
Still unaccounted for are the deputy’s personal weapon, two ballistic vests, 9.mm magazines, and a laptop.
JPD is still working leads in order to find the rest of the stolen items.
