Suspect arrested after Jackson firefighter shoots at attempted robber

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police arrested and charged a man after a shooting on Oak Hill Drive where the suspect allegedly attempted to rob a Jackson firefighter.

37-year-old Undra Harper was charged with one count of attempted armed robbery of an individual, one count of aggravated assault, one count of shooting into a dwelling and one count of probation violation.

Police say that shots were fired after the suspect tried to rob the firefighter in late March. The firefighter was not injured.

Police say the suspect left behind a vehicle when he ran away from the scene. Officers later learned that the car this stolen.

Harper was denied bond in his initial court appearance.
