STARKVILLE, MS (WLBT) - The Associated Press named Mississippi State senior Teaira McCowan a First Team All-American Monday.
McCowan averaged double-figures in points and rebounds for the Bulldogs this season at 18.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. She posted 31 double-doubles, breaking her own program record. McCowan also set the program mark for best field goal percentage at 66.2 percent.
Mississippi State teammates Jazzmun Holmes and Anriel Howard earned honorable mention selections. Holmes broke State’s single-season record for assists with 202 on the season, while Howard averaged 16.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
