First Alert Forecast: warm, breezy Monday; storms overnight

MONDAY: Expect a few showers from time to time for your Monday. Expect mostly to variably cloudy skies with highs in the lower to middle 70s. Winds will be breezy at times with gusts upward of 30 mph. Overnight, a cold front will approach the region late tonight, bringing showers and storms, mainly after midnight. A strong storm or two can’t be ruled out as lows fall to the 60s.

TUESDAY: A few gusty storms can’t be ruled out for the morning commute as a cold front tracks across the state. The majority of the rain will come to an end as the morning commute winds down, leading to brighter skies by the end of the day. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s, dropping to the 30s by early Wednesday morning.

EXTENDED FORECAST: High pressure builds into the region by the time Wednesday rolls around – expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the middle 60s, after starting in the upper 30s. Another system gathers just north of the region by Thursday and Friday, ushering in a chance for showers both days, but at this point, doesn’t look to feature a washout. Expect highs in the middle to upper 60s before another cold front pushes through for the weekend, bringing highs into the 50s by Saturday and Sunday.
