Second suspect arrested in deadly pastor shooting linked to last week’s Foodmart armed robbery

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A second person was arrested in the death of a pastor outside his church Sunday morning.

22-year-old Marquez Hamilton was taken into custody by Hinds-Jackson SWAT team Sunday night. He has been charged with capital murder. He also confessed that he and his friends had plans to rob him.

23-year-old Bernard Randall was charged with capital murder. Randall has been previously implicated and a concerned citizen told police his whereabouts.

Officers found Randall late last night in south Jackson at an undisclosed location.

Randall is also being charged with armed robbery of an individual and aggravated assault for the incident that happened on Robinson Street Food Mart last week.

Randall is in custody without bond until his initial court appearance this morning.

This investigation is ongoing.
