Perez Porter faces multiple charges in an officer involved shooting in Jackson. He has been denied bond.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A second arrest has been made in connection with multiple crimes including an officer-involved shooting in Jackson over the weekend.

Eighteen-year-old Perez Porter has been released from the hospital. He is charged with auto theft, kidnapping, house burglary and two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.

Porter was arrested and charged Wednesday. He has been denied bond in an initial court appearance.

Fifteen-year-old Shikell Butler is facing the same charges. He is charged as an adult in the case. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Police were called to a home on Elms Wood Court for an auto burglary Saturday.

Porter and Butler are also charged with taking a car with a two-year-old child inside. A second call came in for a house burglary a few blocks away, on Wingfield Drive. Shots were fired, and officers, returned fire, hitting Porter - who was taken to a hospital.
