Pastors and church leaders hold their first meeting for Unite Mississippi Thursday in Flowood.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A group of Mississippi pastors and church leaders want to promote unity at a time they say society seems so divided.

Unite Mississippi Together is planning a crusade called, A Night of Unity, scheduled for April 27, 2019. The event will be held at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson.

Pastors held their first meeting Thursday, Jan. 3rd, in Flowood. The next meeting is scheduled for January 17th at the Clyde Muse Center at Hinds Community College in Pearl. They are expecting 700 -1000 pastors at that meeting.

Pastors and leaders who want to attend are being asked to RSVP by going to the group’s website, or you can text Pastors-Summit to 57838 or go to their Facebook page.

The group says the April crusade will be a free, ticketed event with a line up of local and national speakers.
