JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating after a shooting that happened just before 3:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a tweet from JPD, the shooting happened in the 300 block of E. Ridgeway Street.

Police say a 33-year-old woman was shot following an altercation with another woman.

Shortly after, they were notified that another woman had arrived at a local hospital after being shot.

Police were able to determine that both women were previously at the same location.

It has been confirmed that a 17-year-old is in stable condition at the hospital, and the 33-year-old is in critical condition.

Investigators may have a possible identity on the suspect and are working to verify that information as well as her whereabouts.

This is an ongoing investigation.
