Two years later, Linda Gail Franklin's murder still unsolved

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - This week crime stoppers needs your help finding the person who killed a south Jackson woman.

The murder occurred two years ago, this week.

Two years to the date of Linda Gail Franklin's murder, her family friends and loved ones gathered at the home where she was killed, holding a candlelight vigil, complete with music and prayer in hopes her killer will be brought to justice.

 Franklin's mother, Linda Brewer, said"She knew 'em, she opened the door for 'em and they went in and that's all we know, the door wasn't broke in the lady next door is the one that found her and the door was opened and they shot her in the head."

Tracy Blackmon, Franklin's daughter, added "She never got to meet her grandson and that just hurts me, especially cause they haven't found any clues to the person or people who did it."

Twenty four months of investigating and still no clues leading to  Linda Franklin's killer.

Neighbors told investigators they never heard any gunshots. A puzzling tragic end to a woman described as loving life, and friendly to everyone.

"My momma didn't deserve none of it, she didn't deserve to be taken like that and I don't think they should be walking on the streets," added Blackmon.

"I gotta have closure and my family's gotta have closure. I wanna see the person put back away that did this they've been out here in the free world for two years and mine been in the ground I'll never see her," added Brewer.

 Franklin's  sister, Theresa Franklin said "Get the person who done this to my sister and put 'em away where they can't do it to someone else, they're walking out here free thinking they got away with killing somebody what if they do it again."
