New Stryker Brigade Training in Mississippi

Nearly 500 soldiers from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard were welcomed to Camp Shelby Monday. More soldiers will join them this week to become the 56th Stryker Brigade with nearly 4,000 soldiers destined for Iraq.

This brigade will be the first National Guard unit to be equipped with Stryker vehicles. When they are deployed, they will have more than 300.

The soldiers will go through six weeks of training at Camp Shelby and then head to Louisiana for more training. They will leave for Iraq sometime in January.
