JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Xavier Cobbs, a 25-year-old black male, died Sunday, July 8, 2018, after a shooting on Broadmoor Drive, according to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart.
Jackson Police Sgt. Roderick Holmes said officers found Cobbs inside a home near Londonberry Drive after hearing reports of a shooting around 4 a.m.
"We still don't know what actually led to his death. It appears that this may have started outside but again it's still early in the investigation so we're not able to confirm that just yet," said Holmes. "We obviously could tell there was blood inside of the home, there was obviously several shell casings, spent casings outside of the home in the street and leading up to the location. So again, we don't know whether the shooter was on foot or actually in a vehicle."
According to JPD, it looked like there was a struggle outside. There was blood at the top of the back door, investigators said.
No arrests have been made in the case.
