Pensacola wasted no time as they jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Luis Gonzalez singled on a soft line drive to center field allowing Narciso Crook to score.

The Blue Wahoos plated two more runs, extending their lead 3-0 in the top of the sixth inning. Chris Okey produced the first run of the inning by doubling on a fly ball to right field. Taylor Sparks scored from second base on the double from Okey. Keury Mella then reached base safely on a throwing error by M-Braves second baseman, Luis Valenzuela, and Okey scored from second base.

Carlos Martinez got the M-Braves on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning by lacing a line drive RBI single to right field, which allowed Tyler Marlette to score from third base, making the score 3-1.

Mella (5-3, 3.33) who started the game for Pensacola was credited with the win and Mississippi starter, Wilson (1-3, 6.42) suffered the loss. Carlos Navas earned a hold, his third of the season and Jesus Reyes earned his first save of the season.
