We have more storylines after the conclusion of the MLB Draft. Luke Reynolds will sign with the Cubs after a stellar season at Southern Miss. The Conference USA Player of the Year was selected in the 10th round.
Reynolds hit .389 with 15 home runs and 61 RBI. The Forest native will continue his redemption story in the pros.
"I don't want it to end just to be getting drafted. I want to fulfill my lifelong dream and try to make it to the big leagues. Just to have this opportunity is amazing and I'm not going to take it for granted. I want to get a little bit more versatile. Gain a little bit more speed so I can play multiple positions. I was talking to my fiance and my family about it the other day, it's just crazy to think back and see where I've been, how I ended up at Southern Miss, and all that stuff. The Lord is just faithful to me, and I prayed about that. And just to see that answered prayer, and just to see him work in my life has just been amazing."
