JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Roddrick Jackson, a 25-year-old black man, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, after an apparent shooting on Woodrow Wilson Avenue, according to Jackson police.
Sgt. Roderick Holmes said Jackson had been shot multiple times outside the Gulf gas station.
Video from the scene shows the victim died shortly after officers arrived.
Holmes said witnesses described a dark-colored SUV speeding away from the gas station's parking lot after the shooting.
Moments later, a vehicle matching that description wrecked a short distance from the crime scene.
Officers arrested the driver, 26-year-old Devan Robinson, after chasing him for a short time.
Robinson has been charged with murder.
Investigators said the motive remains unclear at this point.
