2018 Egg Bowl kickoff time, TV assignment announced

Kickoff times for the annual Battle for the Golden Egg has been announced. 

The Ole Miss Rebels will face off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Nov. 22 in Oxford at 6:30 p.m. 

The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Kickoff times and TV assignments for the rest of 2018 Ole Miss football games against Texas Tech, Southern Illinois, Alabama and Mississippi State were also announced Thursday.

Ole Miss will open the 2018 season on Sept. 1 in Houston, vs. Texas Tech, in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff, at NRG Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN.

The Rebels’ home opener vs. Southern Illinois will kick at 3 p.m. and will air on SEC Network Alternate.

Ole Miss and Alabama will square off on Sept. 15 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at 6 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Mississippi State will open their season under new head coach Joe Moorhead on Saturday, Sept. 1 versus Stephen F. Austin at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU. The meeting is the first in program history between the Bulldogs and the Lumberjacks.   

The following week, Moorhead and the Bulldog squad will hit the road to take on Kansas State on Saturday, Sept. 8 with an 11 a.m. CT kick live on ESPN from Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium. The trip to Manhattan, Kan., will be the first for MSU’s since Oct. 1, 1977.

MSU will close a stretch of three straight non-conference games to open the 2018 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 15 when Louisiana-Lafayette travels to Davis Wade for a 6:30 p.m. CT kick that will air on the SEC Network Alternative Channel

The remainder of MSU's kickoff times and television networks will be announced at a later date.
