Memorial Day events are happening across the metro to honor those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Here are some events happening today.
On Monday, the Annual Hinds County Memorial Day Service will be held on the front lawn of the Hinds County Courthouse located at 407 East Pascagoula Street in Jackson.
The program will start at 9:30 a.m. and last for about an hour. The public is invited to attend.
The event is held to remind the citizens of Hinds County the purpose and origin of Memorial Day. Hence, it is an honor as Americans, Mississippians and Hinds County citizens to recognize and memorialize our veterans who have served in the various wars on behalf of our country.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside the Hinds County Courthouse.
