Meridian High School basketball standout Miles Miller has undergone surgery for his leg injury and is resting comfortably.
"My wife and I would like to thank everyone that has tried to reach out to us," said Sherrod Miller, Miles' father. "We hear you and REALLY appreciate everyone for keeping Miles in their prayers! His surgery went well and a full recovery is expected in 2-3 months with his leg injury. He’s resting comfortably now and should be released on tomorrow!"
Miller was shot in the leg Sunday morning at the Meridian Waffle House The shooting incident happened after the Meridian High School prom took place Saturday night.
Earlier this month Miller signed with NAVY to play basketball and has been a star basketball player at Meridian High.
Meridian police say they arrested four people soon after the shooting occurred. Multiple bullet casings were marked and collected by detectives at the scene.
