Montague Kennedy, a 60-year-old man, was found dead Sunday, April 15, 2018, after a lawn crew made the discovery in an alleyway off Woodrow Wilson Avenue, according to Jackson police.
Sgt. Roderick Holmes said the man was found somewhere around the 500 block Sunday afternoon.
Investigators determined upon arrival that Kennedy had been accused in a possible stabbing incident three days earlier, when a 21-year-old man arrived at the University of Mississippi Medical Center with multiple lacerations.
That victim, whose name has not been released, told officers that he had stabbed another man who attempted to assault him.
Holmes said that victim is considered a person of interest at this point.
Police have not made any arrests in the case.
