We're one week away from the 2018 NFL Draft. Ole Miss defensive end Breeland Speaks is moving up the boards after a successful NFL Combine and Pro Day. ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. praised the Rebel in a Wednesday conference call.
He says the Callaway alum is the most underrated defensive player in the draft.
"Breeland Speaks is a defensive lineman from Ole Miss, who when you look at all the other defensive linemen, it's a very subpar year for defensive ends," Kiper said. "He played that very effectively late in the year. You go back to the LSU, the Texas A&M game, the Mississippi State game, he was dynamic. 6-3, 283 pounds with long arms, runs well. Quick, athletic. Didn't have a lot of production until this year, went from 1 sack to 7 sacks, from 28 tackles to 61 tackles. Really like Breeland Speaks from Ole Miss as a 2nd or 3rd round pick."
The 2018 NFL Draft starts Thursday, April 26th. The first 3 rounds will be televised on FOX 40.
