Pothole plagues northeast Jackson residents

Some northeast Jackson residents have to play "dodge the pothole" when they travel to and from their homes.

A huge, water-filled crater at 5815 E. Sedgwick Court and Pickford Lane, keeps growing, and now there are mosquito problems because of the standing water.

Residents told 3 On Your Side they are concerned for their childrens' safety.

The cause of the pothole is a ruptured water main and residents say it continues to grow because garbage trucks roll through the hole regularly.

We're told Jackson water and sewer representatives keep referring complaints to a supervisor, but nothing has been done.

WLBT reached out to Director of Communications, Shelia Byrd for comment and we are waiting for a response.
