JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -

3-year-old Aiden Jeffus is a happy little boy who loves Toy Story. His mother says he never goes anywhere without his toy 'Woody' doll, even during some pretty serious medical procedures.

Aiden was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This means little Aiden is living with only half of his heart.

The toddler, from Meadville, MS, has had three open heart surgeries, all performed by Dr. Salazar at Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson. In fact, he is currently recovering from his third surgery.

Aiden's mother. Leslie Jeffus, says that every morning the hospital staff does a chest X-ray on him.

His mother says he always brings Woody with him and he makes sure the toy makes it in ALL of the X-rays. On most days he can be heard yelling, "CHEESE!".

Leslie says she's "thankful everybody at Batson does their part in making our home away from home good."
