What are your celebration plans for the Fourth?

July 4th might be on a Monday, but there are plenty of events and celebrations to keep your weekend full! 

If you don't have plans yet, it's not too late!

Whether you enjoy spending the holiday barbecuing, cutting open a juicy watermelon, watching firework shows or just picnicking and spending time with your family, there are plenty of events going on in our community for you to participate in.

Here are a few events in the area:

1. “Celebrate America” Balloon Glow (Northpark Mall, July 1st, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.)

The annual Balloon Glow at Northpark Mall in Ridgeland is a great place to bring the whole family because it offers a wide variety of activities for all ages. Each year, thousands gather and enjoy good food, music from regional and national acts, hot air balloons that light up the night's sky and an amazing fireworks display that leaves everyone feeling patriotic.

There are variety of food vendors every year that serve up the best in barbecue, funnel cakes, sweet tea and just about anything else you can think of. The balloon glow part of the event will start at about 7:45 p.m. followed by a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.. Take the family out and enjoy this great event on Friday night!

2. 5th Annual Independence Celebration at The REZ ( Old Trace Park, Lakeshore Park, July 2nd, 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.)

This year's event is a celebration of the nation's independence and a salute to the military! The event will take place at BOTH Old Trace Park in Ridgeland and Lakeshore Park in Brandon. You and your family can enjoy live music, kid's zones, a 5K run, a classic car show, a lighted boat parade at dusk, a cardboard boat race, water quality education demonstrations, and FIREWORKS! The fireworks will be launched from both sides of the lake so that both parks have a front row seat to the show. The celebration is free to the public.

3. Canton Balloon Glow and Patriotic Fireworks Spectacular (Multipurpose Pavilion, July 2nd, 4 pm - 9:30 pm)

Head out to Canton for a fun event on Saturday! This event is done in conjunction with the Mississippi Championship Balloon Festival.There will be a Kid's Fun Festival and Balloon Glow, followed by an amazing fireworks show at 9 pm. 

4. Livingston Independence Day Celebration (The Town of Livingston, July 2nd, 5 pm) 

Looking for a way to celebrate the 4th of July? You won't want to miss this amazing event! Come to The Town of Livingston on July 2nd for the ultimate celebration with a live performance from U.S and T.B Ledford & The Accumulators followed by a beautiful fireworks show! It is going to be a blast for all ages! 

Gates Open: 5:00 PM
- Free parking
- Craft Beer and wine garden
- Water slides & face-painting

*Tickets $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. 
VIP packages available.

4. Clinton Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza (Traceway Park, July 4th, 5 pm - 9:30 pm)

Bring the entire family to Clinton's Traceway Park and join the biggest and best Independence Day party in the metro area, the 27th Annual Family Fireworks Extravaganza in a fun-filled evening of games and musical entertainment.

Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. with entertainment beginning at 4 p.m. Parking is $8, but admission to the activities and entertainment is free. there will be plenty of food and beverage vendors present to feed your hunger and quench your thirst! The celebration will include the Fireworks Extravaganza starting at 9:15 p.m. and entertainment from Hannah Belle and U.S. Band.

5. Fireworks at Liberty Parks (Liberty Parks, July 4th, 9 p.m.)

If you live in Madison and want to take the family out for a great fireworks show after a long day at the pool, head on out to Liberty Parks. The event starts at 9 p.m..
