U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves is presiding over a hearing challenging House Bill 1523, commonly known as the Religious Accommodations Act.
House Bill 1523 will become law July 1st unless it's blocked by Judge Reeves.
Four lawsuits say the measure is unconstitutional, arguing it denies equal protection to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. They also say it favors some religious beliefs over others.
