RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) -

National Garbage Man Day kicks off on Friday and we know one local toddler that can't wait to tell his garbage men how much they mean to him.

16-month-old RB Stubblefield's favorite day of the week is Wednesday. Why? It's garbage day!

Every Wednesday for the last year, he has gone outside to wait on the big truck to come down his street.

The three garbage men, who work his street, have formed a very special bond with the little guy. RB's mother, Laura, says they always smile, give a wave and never forget to honk the horn for him. For National Garbage Man Week they even had some special cookies made for them to enjoy while on their route.

"In light of recent tragic events, we think it's really important to show love and kindness wherever we can, " said Laura."We appreciate our sweet friends and want to make sure they know it!"
