A man has died after a woman ran over him multiple times during a fight at a grocery store.
On Friday, June 10, deputies were called to Four Way Grocery in Marion County in reference to a hit and run.
The caller said that a car hit a person in the parking lot. When deputies arrived on scene, the victim, James E. Johnson, was found lying on the ground with severe injuries.
According to witnesses and video surveillance from the store, a woman named Chaneeta Bryant and Johnson got into some kind of fight at the grocery store and she ran him over with her car multiple times before leaving.
Bryant was arrested and initially charged with aggravated assault.
Johnson was airlifted to Forrest General, but died because of his injuries early Monday morning.
Bryant's charges were upgraded to Murder with a $1,000,000 bond.
Bryant bonded out late Monday evening.
