JPD says teen, 2 women shot

JPD is on the scene of a triple shooting in Jackson that happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday. 

Commander Tyree Jones says one teen girl and two women, ages 25 and 21 were shot at 3257 James Hill Street.

Jones says all three were take to UMMC by private vehicle prior to officers arriving on the scene.

Commander Jones says the unidentified victims' injuries are non-life-threatening and all are listed in stable condition.

Jones said during the course of the investigation, it was learned that the victims were outside when an occupant of a black Chrysler 200, with dark tinted windows, stopped near their location and fired several shots in their direction. 

"The shots appear to have been fired from a shotgun due to evidence on scene," Jones said.

Jones said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and it is unknown at the time what the motive is.

Authorities said it is not known if  the victims were the intended targets.
