PEARL, MS (WLBT) -

Two men considered armed and dangerous are now off the streets. Brett Davis and Andrew Walters were arrested in Biloxi Thursday afternoon.

They were wanted for attempted murder after shooting a driver in the face in broad daylight on I-20 in Pearl Wednesday.

Biloxi Police said members of the US Marshall's Task Force arrested the two men in Biloxi after Davis' truck was found in the parking lot of Winn Dixie.

Captain Brian McGairty said, "His name is Brett Davis. They were able to quickly identify him as the shooter."

29-year-old father, Brett Davis of Picayune is behind bars charged with attempted murder. Pearl Police Captain Brian McGairty said his team has been working with state and federal agencies to get this man behind bars after they said Davis was driving a Gold 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab when he opened fire on I-20 shooting the driver of a black Altima in the face.

McGairty said, "Early indicators did indicate road rage, but further investigations reveal there may have been something that began before they got on I-20 that may have originated out of Jackson. We are still not really clear on that. We are waiting for the victim to cooperate with us a little more."

It happened Wednesday in the east bound lane at the Airport Road exit around 4:30 in the afternoon in Pearl.

According to social media, Davis is a Pearl River Central High graduate. He could now be facing life behind bars.

Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest said, "Attempted murder is a fairly new statue in Mississippi. It has been in affect for the last 2 to 3 years. The penalty for that would be, if convicted, a jury could impose a sentence of life. This means the defendant would not be eligible for release until he or she is 65. If the jury does not give a life sentence, it's a 20 year minimum and 40 year maximum."

The victim, whose identity is not being released, was shot just above the eye. Pearl Police said the victim is in stable condition recovering at UMMC and is working with police.

Both suspects are being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
