Sunday family and friends came together to remember the life of a Pearl man fatally shot by his wife.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday evening for 25-year-old Justin Jenkins at Jenkins Park in Pearl.

According to Pearl Police, he was shot in the head inside his home at the Southern Gardens Mobile Home Park on May 31st.

It was a gathering of those still in disbelieve over his sudden shocking death.

Jenkins' loved ones say they are relying on their faith and are there to celebrate his life.

"He's touched everybody who's here. We just want to commemorate his memory or whatever, come together as a family, grieve and talk about him you know, pay our respects you know before we have the initial memorial for him," said cousin Antonio Jenkins.

No charges were filed against Jenkins' wife who was taken into custody and later released.

Investigators said she acted in self defense.
