Keys like the ones on your key ring could cause you to become a victim of serious crimes.

An app called KeyMe is easy to download and is free. Once you navigate through the app it allows you to select what kind of key you want to take a picture of. Once you make your selection, within seconds you are able to take a picture of the front and back of a key.

After going through a sign up process anyone can have the key shipped to the address provided.

Jackson Police Commander  Tyree Jones says this app could end up in the wrong hands, causing you to become a victim.

"It is of great concern to me at this point," said Jones. "Based on the fact that just looking over this app you can order a key by taking a picture. People leave their keys laying around all the time. Valet people parking cars have access to your keys, when you take your car in for service. It is of great concern at this point. It's not to scare anybody, but it is a measurement people should really consider. Someone actually has access to your belongings. Someone may try to use this in a criminal matter."

If you think you may be a victim, call your local law enforcement.
