MADISON, MS (WLBT) -

The Madison Police Department is looking for two people who are accused of passing counterfeit money.

On Sunday, officers say that a man and woman tried to buy a TV from the Wal-Mart on Grandview Boulevard using the counterfeit money, but were confronted by the cashier about the money being fake.

The two then fled from the store and left in a car that police are unable to identify.

They were caught on the store's security camera entering the store at about 8 pm.

Madison police say that other Wal-Marts in the area have also received counterfeit money that have matching serial numbers and denominations to the ones that were used at the Madison location.

Anyone with information that leads to the positive identification and arrest of these people will be eligible for a reward of up to $1000.00.

If you have information to help in this case, please call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS(8477) or submit a tip online through the Web Tip link on the home page of the Central MS Crime Stoppers website.
