There were several reports of storm damage in the metro Thursday evening. The high winds brought down trees, especially in the Capital City.

In the 600 block of Lexington Avenue, one tree even split in half, pinning a SUV as it fell.

"Then the other side of the tree had fallen, and we had to run in the back, because I don't know how tall the tree was," neighbor Cleo Lewis said. "I thought it was about to fall inside the house because it blocked the sun."

In the Pecan Acres area of South Jackson, several trees fell in homeowners' yards.

One tree blocked a portion of Chestnut Lane until public works crews cleared it in a matter of minutes.

None of them hit houses, though.

In addition, no injuries were reported.

Residents say they're thankful it wasn't worse.

"It came up so fast, like you could hear. it sounded like a train. I thought my wife was tearing the bedroom out or something," said resident Eddie Steele.
