JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -

Some scattered afternoon thunderstorms have interrupted the three-digit weather in the Jackson area, at least for a little while. The storms appear to be packing a little punch because there are reports of wide-spread power outages.

Entergy is reporting more than a thousand customers without power in the metro area.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hinds County until 5:45.
