A water leak on a main that services much of south Jackson continues to elude water crews looking for it's location. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

The waterline could be anywhere along I-220, into south Jackson according to city officials. They started looking at Beasley road and are working their way south.

Some areas are paved, others in heavy brush, which could hinder their search.

City officials say they have found an area of standing water Wednesday. They won't tell us exactly where, but it's south of an area where there was a failure on a 42" water line in 2012.

The city is bringing in pumps to push the water out to see if that is the exact location of the leak.

City water crews continue to track water pressures and tank levels, trying to pinpoint the source. Many south Jackson residents have been moved to the well system, while the search for the leak continues.
