Breaking News Update: Our crew is on the scene of what Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman Othor Cain is calling a disturbance at the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond.
It happened just before 10 Thursday night. Cain says a Rapid Response Team answered an officer down call. He tells us an inmate made contact with two detention officers. Both officers have been taken to a hospital with what Cain says were non-life threatening injuries.
Jail officials are now reviewing surveillance video. The disturbance happened in Pod A. AMR is still on stand by and there are numerous law enforcement agencies on site, including Jackson Police, Clinton, and Raymond. Our crew is also seeing a SWAT truck at the location. A deputy has moved them to an area outside the jail for what he called safety concerns.Copyright 2015 MSNewsNow. All rights reserved.
