JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Mississippi Braves and The Junior League of Jackson are teaming up to bring Touch A Truck Jackson to Trustmark Park in April.

According to a press release, the two-day event is a unique educational opportunity, allowing kids the chance to explore, climb on and touch large trucks, equipment, emergency vehicles and more. The event teaches kids about Mississippi's economy as they learn about various career paths including manufacturing, farming and construction.

A news conference was held Monday to give details on the event which is set for Friday, April 24 through Saturday April 25, 2015 in Pearl. A number of state leaders attended the news conference.

"We're excited to partner with Touch A Truck Jackson and bring this event to Trustmark Park this year," said M-Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo. "Anytime we can partner with local charities and organizations, it's great and this was the perfect opportunity to bring a unique, educational program to our venue. It will be a huge success for all involved," DeSalvo added.

Construction and utility trucks along with ambulances, farm equipment and diggers will be on site for kids to explore.

More details will be released soon. For more information about Touch A Truck Jackson, please contact 2015 Chair Touch A Truck Jackson Tosha Taylor at or call 601.405.2349.
