Former Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Noble Lee has died.
He passed away today at his home in Forest.
Chief Justice Bill Waller Junior said Lee's impact on the judicial branch of government was enormous. Lee was appointed to the high court in 1976 and later elected to a full term later that year.
He became chief justice in 1987.
He retired at the end of his term in 1993, after 16 years of service.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Roy Noble Lee was 99 years old.
