JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Two men, armed and dangerous, remain on the run tonight after firing gunshots at a man in a bank parking lot this morning off State Street in Jackson.

The victim says that he is lucky to be alive.

"I went into James Bond mode and I ducked down and tried to drive the car and when I realized the gas wasn't working as I was pressing on it, I was like, I have to get out of here," he says.

It was 6:15 in the morning, when the victim, who will only be referred to as Chris, says he had just taken $20 out of the bank's ATM. Right after that he says he was ambushed by another car and a man firing gunshots.

Chris says,"So I jumped out of the car as it was moving. The car could have ran me over at any moment, but I jumped out and I bolted up the hill to McDonalds to call 911."

The victim says he was forced to run to safety after one of the bullets fired from the gun hit his car's engine making it useless.

He says the terrifying turn of events happened within seconds. He says there was one man driving the grey Chrysler and the shooter was the passenger, dressed in all black.

"His face was covered and all I could see was the white's of his eyes."

As he waited for Jackson Police, he continued to relive the horrifying reality.

Chris says, "I'm sitting down shaking and trembling and thanking my lucky stars that I'm still here today because the situation could have gone a thousand and one ways differently."

The two men got away with the victim's 20 bucks, his wallet and his cell phone.

Jackson police are looking for the two suspects who are considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information about the armed robbery that happened at the Regions Bank off of State and Fortification Streets you are asked to call Crimestoppers.
