JULIA'S FORECAST: Arctic outbreak arrives today!

Now is the time to prepare for the cold weather if you haven't yet- the arctic air plows through today! We recommend that all pets come indoors, faucets left on a slight warm drip, and an insulation cover put on outdoor pipes before tonight.

The chill arrives this afternoon. Our morning has actually been rather seasonable with wake up temperatures in the low and mid 30s. We'll top out in the low 40s early in the afternoon, around noon to 1pm.

Winds increase today! They'll be out of the north up to 25 mph. Expect a wind chill factor today of temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. The nicest thing about today? We'll at least have plenty of sunshine with some passing high clouds in the afternoon.

By around 3pm we'll start to see our thermometer declining. Our temperatures will likely be in the 20s by suppertime. By midnight we'll drop into the teens. Winds will still be breezy enough out of the north that we still need to be concerned with the wind chill factor through the overnight. Much of the overnight and early Thursday morning will feel like SINGLE DIGITS!!!

The majority of Thursday will be spent below freezing. Only for a few hours during the afternoon will we come up to the mid 30s. Sunshine sticks around through the day, and skies remain clear overnight into Friday. The overnight low will be in the mid 20s.

We're very slow to improve these temperatures. Highs are in the low 40s on Friday and Saturday with a slight possibility for rain showers. We're still on the cool side in the upper 40s and low 50s from Sunday through the beginning of next work week.
