This will be my final editorial. I am retiring after more than thirty years here at WLBT.
I have had the rare privilege in the television industry of spending the majority my career in my hometown. Through the years I have seen firsthand how WLBT has enhanced the lives of those in the communities we serve.
So many news stories we aired that uncovered corruption, given a voice to the voiceless (Wednesday's Child) and even saved lives. Stories that illustrate the best of Mississippi. WLBT has helped raise millions of dollars and made the public aware of countless worthy causes.
I will miss my co-workers at WLBT. Their professionalism and passion to serve our viewers and advertisers was a daily inspiration to me. At WLBT Three on Your Side is more than just a slogan and I have been truly humbled to play a small part in this station's success.
Farewell. May God's grace abound to you and family.
