JULIA'S FORECAST: Cooler & Quieter Christmas Eve

The severe weather threat has ended across the state and we're in the process of clearing out our skies. The system that impacted us yesterday, spinning up tornadic activity in the southeastern portion of the state, was part of a cold front that advanced across Mississippi. That cold front now continues eastward, bringing rain and storms to areas closer to the East Coast and snow to parts of the Midwest. If traveling to these portions of the country we advise you to check in with your airline for any delays or cancellations.

A few showers are possible this morning (mainly north of I-20) but again, no severe weather expected. Most of us are starting off the day with clouds and a breeze. By the afternoon we'll have more in the way of sunshine, but our warm up will be minimal. Highs today will only be in the low 50s; a wind chill will only be in the mid 40s.

It's going to be a cold rooftop landing for Santa Claus tonight! Temperatures during the overnight are going to come down to near freezing. Fortunately our skies will be clear... all the easier to see Rudolph's nose glowing in the sky. Keep an eye out!

Christmas Day will be cool but pleasant. Expect plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 50s. Enjoy!
