Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain says the initial investigation into Sunday's deadly officer involved shooting in Madison County is complete.The shooting has been ruled justified based on evidence collected by M-B-I- investigators.
The agency concluded that carjacking suspect Michael Sulton raised and fired his weapon at Madison and Ridgeland officers in pursuit of him.The officers returned fire; killing Sulton.
Crime Lab reports are being compiled and a compete report will be sent to Rankin-Madison District Attorney Michael Guest. He will determine if the case should be presented to a Madison County Grand Jury.
The carjacking investigation is being conducted by Madison police. Right now, all four officers are on administrative leave with pay.
