I-20 spill clogs traffic

UPDATE: One Eastbound lane of I-20 open at scene of 18-wheeler fire

Clear skies and cooler in the Jackson metro area on this Tuesday afternoon. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

One Eastbound lane of I-20 is finally open. It has been closed since Monday night due to a truck fire near Forest in Scott County.

Plus, the law enforcement community is in mourning after losing one of their own in an early morning accident around 2am. George County Deputy John Street, 24, was responding to an accident on Highway 57 North when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

Also, Hinds County lawmen investigate a shoot out near Edwards.

And, the Jackson Zoo's reticulated giraffe, Diamond, passed away at 28-years-old, and was one of the oldest giraffe's living in the United States.

In sports, Mississippi State football is in search of a new defensive coordinator.
