JULIA'S FORECAST: Rain (and some storms) likely today

Good morning!

Your umbrella will come in handy today, so don't forget to grab it before you leave the house this AM. There isn't too much shower activity through the early morning, although areas west of I-55 can't rule out rain entirely during the morning commute. Most will start getting wet in the afternoon.

Along with scattered rain there's a chance for some thunderstorms. Severe weather is not likely today, but one or two strong storms are possible in the southwest portion of the state. Winds will be gusty out of the southwest at times.

Despite the rain it will actually be a pretty warm day. Highs should reach the mid 60s to the low 70s.

Skies clear overnight and a cooling trend takes over! Tuesday and Wednesday  will be cooler in the mid to high 50s with drier skies. A slight chance for showers is possible on Thursday with a greater rain chance on Friday.
